Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead overall Mechanical Maintenance and Plant Engineering activities.
• Plan and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM) schedules for plant equipment.
• Ensure maximum equipment reliability and plant availability while minimizing breakdowns and downtime.
• Plan and execute maintenance activities as per defined schedules, procedures and standard checklists.
• Monitor and control maintenance costs and conversion costs within approved budgets.
• Prepare annual maintenance budgets, schedule expenditures and control inventory.
• Plan preventive maintenance strategies to reduce dependency on breakdown maintenance.
• Execute CAPEX projects within approved budgets and defined timelines.
• Manage plant shutdown and breakdown maintenance activities effectively.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical equipment failures and ensure closure of corrective actions.
• Ensure implementation of Management of Change (MOC) for modifications in existing plant areas and equipment.
• Maintain engineering documentation and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF quality management requirements.
• Ensure adherence to Safety, Environment and 5S standards across Mechanical Maintenance activities.
• Drive reliability and cost-effectiveness improvement initiatives for utilities and associated plant areas.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Stores, Purchase, Logistics and other internal departments.
• Coordinate with external vendors, service engineers and auditors as required.
• Develop the Mechanical Maintenance team, including skill matrix development, work delegation and capability building.

Candidate Profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 11–14 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Maintenance / Plant Engineering.
• Strong understanding of maintenance planning, equipment reliability and cost control.
• Good knowledge of quality and safety standards.
• Strong analytical, organizational and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to lead and develop a team of Mechanical Engineers.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and related systems.
