JOB DESCRIPTION.
1. The Project Instrumentation Engineer Directs and integrates the activities of multiple, project operations; ensures that project efforts are generally cohesive, consistent, and effective in supporting the Organization’s growth objectives.
2. Participates in and oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of individual project objectives and short- and long-range plans in an owner’s project team; develops tracking and evaluation programs to assist in the accomplishment of established project goals and objectives.
3. Manages and reviews Instrumentation documentation submitted by Contractors with consultations with operating sites. Should be able to work proactively with Design contractors to find solutions in projects
4. Manages the working relationships between project teams and other stake holders.
5. Collaborates with Company Project leadership and administration to establish project goals and priorities for business and technology solutions to meet individual project needs.
6. Develops Front End Instrumentation and controls Design documentation before engagement of Contractors.
7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
8. He would support the Instrumentation and Controls Engineering requirements of projects.
9. Skills to identify Engineering Contractors and I&C material suppliers and be able to manage them to meet Company objectives.
Educational qualifications: Should have a Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Electronics/Instrumentation and Controls Engineering.
Back ground Requirements: Minimum of overall experience of about 10 to 12 years in Electronics /Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Design along with some Maintenance exposure with specific familiarity in handling Chemical industry projects. He should have handled Projects having investment in excess of Rs.10 Crores Experience with Maintenance disciplines would be preferable.
Active experience in Engineering office, as I&C Design engineer, with full knowledge of the Engineering, Procurement, Construction cycle and the processes followed therein.
· Proven working experience in Project I&C engineering Design with awareness of modern practices and exposure to interface management with other disciplines.
· Should be familiar with Design of Field Instrumentation, Central Controls like PLC/DCS etc.
· Should have handled jobs either in owner organizations or with Engineering Companies and should be familiar with execution models such as EPC LS, EPCM, PMC
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other Modern I&C Engineering Design Software.
· Exposure to design of Specification of field instrumentation, PLC/DCS, Construction and Erection documentation, Bulk materials definition,
· Strong people management skills.
· Knowledge of Document management and controls.
· Strong exposure to Industrial I&C design in chemical plants.
· Some Exposure to ERP systems.
· Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors/Contractors for the flawless execution of projects
· Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
· Assist in the definition of project I&C Engineering scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
· Ensure resource availability and allocation.
· Manage changes to the project I&C scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
· Report and escalate Concerns to Project Management as needed
· Manage the relationship with all stakeholders.
· Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
· Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
· Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
· Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.
· Have a strong commitment to Health Safety & Environment and to the concept of zero incidents.
· Believe very strongly about ethical methods to execute projects.
· Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with Company management as well as other staff members
· Use and continually develop leadership skills.
· Ability to analyse problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
· Thorough Knowledge and exposure to International codes and Standards.
