- Establish a strong cost estimating process to meet project and production requirements.
- Analyze key areas for improvement and implement cost estimation techniques to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Monitor financial data, detect inefficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Evaluate economic trends, assess risks, and determine cost implications.
- Utilize cost methodologies, software models, and data analytics to ensure accurate estimations.
- Implement consistent cost engineering management processes and reporting systems.
- Provide strategic and operational reports as required.
III. People Management:
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing cost estimation team.
- Set department objectives/KPIs and regularly review team performance.
- Ensure alignment with health, safety, and environmental policies.
IV. Financial Budget and Control:
- Manage and oversee the departmental budget.
- Monitor supplier quotations and ensure alignment with ‘should cost’ estimates.
- Drive cost reductions in collaboration with the procurement team.
V. Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with purchasing and project teams to ensure cost efficiency.
- Stay updated with market changes and support stakeholders with project adjustments.
- Negotiate supplier quotations and work towards achieving target costs.
