Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of electrical CAPEX projects from scope finalization, load estimation, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover across multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Manage HT/LT power distribution projects, including installation and upgradation of 11/22 kV, transformers, MCC/PCC panels, IMCC/VFD panels, switchgear, bus ducts, cable trays, and power cable networks.
- Execute greenfield and brownfield electrical projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, budget, and safety requirements.
- Prepare electrical load calculations, cable sizing, equipment selection, layout drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules, protection coordination charts, and as-built documentation.
- Supervise erection, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of electrical systems and coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with OEMs and third-party inspection agencies.
- Lead installation and commissioning of DG synchronization systems, capacitor banks, UPS systems, and power quality improvement solutions.
- Manage project contractors and OEM vendors by preparing RFQs, evaluating technical bids, monitoring execution, and certifying contractor bills.
- Lead and mentor site engineers, supervisors, and contract electricians by planning manpower deployment, monitoring daily progress, and ensuring timely project execution.
- Coordinate with production, instrumentation, civil, mechanical, and utility departments to execute projects with minimal disruption to ongoing plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including DGVCL, Torrent Power, GPCB, DISH (Gujarat), Electrical Inspectorate, and the Factories Act, by preparing and submitting technical documentation for approvals.
- Monitor project progress through MIS reports, S-curves, dashboards, cost tracking, and risk assessments, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Perform troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance of critical electrical equipment, including transformers, protection relays, HT/MV switchgear, and associated electrical systems, while conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards, permit-to-work systems, quality procedures, and site safety practices throughout project execution.
- Monitor energy consumption, support energy optimization initiatives, improve power factor, and implement measures to enhance electrical system efficiency and plant reliability.
