JOB PROFILE:-(Head Technical Services & Process Control)
Core Competencies:
Technical Administration
- Ensure achievement of Technical objectives through the leadership of Technical team incl. setting team & individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback, sharing knowledge & experience, facilitating external help/guidance where necessary and appraisal to maximise subordinate performance
- Prepare annual operational & capital expenses budget and manage the Tech. dept. activities in approved budgets.
- Recommend the technical plans and provide input to divisional budget budgets based on the Production plans
- Contribute to the development of the Technical strategy for Manufacturing Plants in line with the vision, mission and business objectives of the company
- Contribute to the development and implementation of functional policies, processes, procedures and controls related to Technical activities incl. recommendation for staff for Technical Services.
- Ensure regulatory, corporate and site safety and environmental standards are followed by conducting safety audits and risk assessments.
Process Engg. & Operations Improvement
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes & construction materials in Phosphatic Fertilizer complex
- Process sequence planning & re-engineering to improve efficiency, trouble-shoot technical problems for safe & smooth plant operation.
- Review plant performance evaluation and efficiency through Mass & Heat Balances.
- Coordinate monitoring and analys of plant operation and quality parameters for effective process control and work out plan to eliminate causes of quality variation.
- Identification and implementation of cost saving projects in the plant operations.
- Assessment of different raw materials/chemicals to check their suitability, techno-economic suitability and give recommendations.
- Organize physical verification and reconciliation of finished goods & raw material with Operations, Logistics and Finance Dept.
- Prepare product structures and operation standards based on cost trend analysis.
- Literature survey, data reconciliation & doc. for test runs/trials for new products/optimisation of process.
- Handle Special Assignments and performed as a member of Task Force in different projects.
- Coordinate Lab./pilot Scale trials to improve process efficiencies, new product development, checking suitability of various raw materials.
- Extending technical supports to production/maint./marketing and advise management on technical issues.
Technical Projects & Strategy
- Carrying out techno-economic feasibility study of new capital projects, technical audits & technology/process upgradation.
- Projects from business need analysis & evaluation of possible options to the development of comprehensive solution based on preliminary design & economic assessment (NPV, IRR etc.)
- Develop short and long term planning for capital/strategic projects.
- Monitor and control the completion of various technical projects to install technical facilities or equipment at the various plant sites within project parameters e.g. Cost, timelines, quality and functionality.
- Effectively manage the consulting companies engaged to provide technical services to ensure the Company gets the best value for money and the appropriate functionality that is sought
- Explore the identification of possible synergies with other projects which would enhance the project value.
- Capital Procurement - Vendor evaluation, selection, technical recommendations and negotiation.
VA/QA Initiatives
- Manage Technical MIS Reports to track quality variations, downtime, variation in consumption of raw materials/utilities, major incidents and plant modifications affecting productivity
- Manage reducing defects and providing technical support to production line/IQC/QA.
- Manage development of SOP for acquiring accreditations and ensure compliance to WCM, SQC and ISO norms.
